A LITTLE TIP FROM MY $100K COACHING CLIENT

Just wrapped up the first meeting with a new Domination Year client.

When a new client comes in, I walk them straight into the conference room at HQ that I call the war room.

Then we sit down like a couple of strategic generals and start game-planning how we’re going to dominate their industry.

We pull apart everything in their business. 

And one of my favorite parts of that first session is the exercise I call Delegate to Elevate.

Most of entreperenuers are Type A. 

We want to be involved in everything, we want to make sure it’s done right, and we tell ourselves NOBODY can do it the way we can.

(I know that firsthand because I was that guy for years.)

I share this with you because when I first started, I thought I could do it all.

I wanted to be:

  • Head of Sales
  • Finance Manager
  • Operations Manager
  • The guy delivering the product to the customer

…all while being CEO and running the day-to-day.

You know what happened?

I’d spend Mondays reconciling accounts. Tuesdays chasing suppliers. Wednesdays fixing the calendar. By Thursday I hadn’t had ONE sales conversation in four days.

I was busy. I was exhausted. And I was broke.

Here’s what I share with my 1-on-1 coaching client:

In every business, there’s a 5% of activities that actually moves the needle.

And it’s almost never the stuff that feels productive.

For most entrepreneurs, that 5% is some version of:

  • Selling
  • Building offers
  • Hiring A-players
  • Driving leads

Everything else? Necessary work, sure – but it’s the kind of work that should be on somebody else’s plate, not the CEO’s.

Here’s the exercise I run every one of my $100K Domination Year clients through on day one in the war room:

Track every single thing you do for 5 business days. 

Every meeting, every email, every task, and every “got a second?” interruption.

At the end of those 5 days, circle the 5% that’s driving revenue or growth.

The rest is your delegation list. 

That’s the Delegate to Elevate play.

Most of my clients are SHOCKED when they see how much of their week is being eaten by stuff that has no business being on their calendar.

And the smaller the 5% gets the bigger the business gets.
