I finally got around to seeing the new Top Gun movie this weekend.
My honest review on it…nostalgic yes…but definitely not better than the first.
But this email isn’t about my damn review of a movie.
Besides all the action I wanted to talk about one thing – the opening scene.
The build-up of the F-14’s take-off, the Naval crew getting into position, the flight deck being cleared, and pilots entering the aircraft.
But right when Highway to the Danger Zone started playing this grown ass 48 year old man turned right back into that 11 year old boy I was when I watched the original.
I remembered the feeling that anything was possible, wanting to be a thrill seeker and develop a Fighter Pilot Jet Mentality.
To push my limits and Ride into the Danger Zone…
Over the years I’ve realized the Danger Zone wasn’t a place – but a mentality.
The new year is a month away and just like every year, most people will revert back to that 11 year old kid…
Full of hope…
Wanting to take risks…
And break through their limits…
But how many of them actually succeed?
Most people think that writing their goals down, reciting them out loud, and visualizing them every day will get them what they want out of life – WRONG!
