Have you ever seen how crabs in a bucket conduct themselves?
Here’s how it goes…
There’s always one ambitious crab who is desperately trying to climb out and escape from the bucket.
But every time it gets close to the top, the other crabs reach up, grab it’s legs and yanked it right back down.
This is why fishermen don’t put a lid on the bucket of crabs – they simply don’t let each other leave.
As entrepreneurs, we often find ourselves in the same spot as that ambitious crab.
One minute, you’re fired up to scale your business.
Set bigger goals, land high-ticket clients, and see real momentum.
The next minute, you’re stuck at the same revenue number you had last year and you can’t figure out a way to scale.
If this sounds familiar…you’ve probably got crabs.
I’m not talking about the ones you pick up in shady gas station bathrooms.
These crabs are the ones that sabotage your success right when things are finally looking up.
The truth is sometimes these crabs are the people in your business who resist change and slow you down.
Other times, they’re outdated processes or half-hearted initiatives that keep you spinning your wheels.
And, believe it or not, your own mindset can be the BIGGEST crab of all.
I share this with you because if you’re looking to scale your business and truly break out of that bucket for good…
Then you need to recognize these crabs for what they are and learn how to deal with them head-on.
HERE’S 4 WAYS TO GET RID OF CRABS FOR GOOD:
- Identify Your Crabs: Look for team members, partners, or acquaintances who drain your energy or question your ambitions. Sometimes it’s subtle jabs or constant negative feedback.
- Give Yourself Permission: You’re the CEO of your own life. Decide who gets a seat at the table and who doesn’t.
- Upgrade Your Network: Spend more time with the entrepreneurs, coaches, and peers who challenge you to level up—and make you uncomfortable in the best possible way.
- Embrace Your 2.0 Self: The moment you cut loose these “crabs,” you’ll find new opportunities and collaborations that push your business to the next stage of growth.
Listen, you don’t have to stay in the same bucket year after year.
Especially when you’ve got the drive and the dream to do so much more.
Pinpoint your crabs, cut them loose, level yourself up and watch how quickly your revenue, results, and relationships shoot through the roof.
You’re sitting on millions of dollars and until you make bold moves you will NOT get the big results.
