How to Stop Feeling Like An Imposter

Imposter Syndrome. It’ll mess you up in every category of life.

I’ve seen successful businesses crumble because of it.

I’ve seen marriages fall apart.

And I’ve seen people lose their health.

All because they felt like they didn’t belong in a place of success in their business, marriage, or health.

They felt fake.

They felt like imposters and so they subconsciously sabotage everything to validate how they feel.

What I’m about to share will help you overcome feeling like a fraud.

It’s been my biggest life hack to getting rid of Imposter Syndrome.

If more people did this, they wouldn’t be so harsh on themselves or perfectionists.

And there will be more millionaires in my opinion.

You see, the average person has over 6,000 thoughts a day. The majority of these thoughts are negative and self-critical.

Sadly, it’s how our brain is hardwired after millions of years of evolution. But it’s how we’ve been able to survive as a species.

This negativity impacts how we feel, look, and talk.

I see this happen all the time with entrepreneurs today. They practically destroy themselves with negative thoughts and self-talk and then wonder why they can’t seem to catch a break.

They can’t get out their own way.

They pick themselves apart until there’s nothing left.

I share this with you because I used to do the same thing.

My head used to be filled with negative thoughts. And if I made a mistake, I’d beat myself up for hours if not days.

So how did I turn it around you ask?

I started talking to myself the same way I talk to my dog, Cookie.

Think about it.

How do you talk to your dog?

You talk to it with compassion, kindness, and love. It’s all positivity.

And if they do something bad, you can’t stay mad at them forever.

You forgive them and tell them that you love them.

I’m not saying to let yourself off the hook each time you screw up. But I am saying to give yourself a break and don’t let the punishment drag on.

If you screw up, own it, acknowledge it, and move on like the badass that you are.
