One of my favorite things to do on Tuesday mornings is spend a few minutes reading and responding to comments to the new BK Live episode on YouTube.
Like any entrepreneur, I love it because I get feedback. I get to hear directly from you guys about what’s working and what you need more of.
So if you’ve ever left a comment on one of my videos – THANK YOU.
It means the world to me, and yes, that’s actually me replying.
Anyway, I’m scrolling through and YouTube’s algorithm does what it does and throws an 8 year old video of mine into my recommended feed.
At first I didn’t even recognize the guy on the screen.
I thought it was a leaked video someone dug up of me.
But it was my good friend Craig Ballantyne and me recording one of my old Empire podcast episodes.
And I just sat there watching it for a minute.
Because that version of Bedros had no idea what was coming.
He didn’t know about the panic attacks, the near-burnout, the moments where he almost lost everything or the comebacks that followed every single one of them.
I share this with you because if I could go back and sit across from that guy here’s what I’d tell him (and you reading this):
- Stop Trying To Do It Alone.
The years wasted grinding in isolation cost you more than any mistake you ever made. Kill your ego, get in a room with people who are ahead of you, and let them compress your timeline.
- Stop Waiting Until You Feel Ready.
In any business I ever started, I’ve never felt ‘ready’. You could always use more experience, advice, or money. But you’re never going to feel ready. I sure as hell wasn’t ready when I started Fit Body Boot Camp. Or when I wrote Man Up. And you’ll never feel ‘ready’ for most of the things you do today. You just do them anyway.
- Trust The Process Even When You Can’t See The Results Yet.
The compounding effect of showing up every single day, making the calls, doing the work, pouring into your business and your people – it doesn’t show up for a while. But then one day, you’ll look at your bank account and realize ‘it all hits at once’…and everyone will call it an overnight success.
That dude with the hair parted down the middle would’ve gotten to where I am now a lot faster if he had heard those three things and actually listened.
So if you’re in that season right now…
…where you’re grinding, you can feel that something bigger is on the other side…
…but you just can’t see it yet…
…keep going.
