THE CURSE OF BEING GOOD AT WHAT YOU DO

Most owners who are great at what they do stay broke because they’re focused on the wrong things.

Chasing followers.

Boosting a post here and there.

Trying every new marketing trick some gooroo sold them.

Meanwhile, their bank account doesn’t match their skill or their reputation.

There’s something messed up about that.

But after years of coaching chiropractors, med spa owners, gym owners, contractors, and dentists, I finally figured out why this happens…

Most of you think being great at the work is enough.

It’s not.

Being great at what you do is just the starting point.

And that’s the curse. You’re so good at the work that it pays just enough to keep you doing the work, so you never have to get good at the other sh!t. The marketing, the sales, the systems, the team.

The guy who’s mediocre at his craft has to learn that stuff or he’s dead in six months. You don’t. So you don’t.

Look, I was the best personal trainer in my city. Fully booked, clients loved me, and I was making about $4,000 a month because every dollar required me to physically be there.

And I was “doing marketing.” Flyers. A website. Posting whenever I remembered to.

I was doing it the way most service business owners do it. Badly, in between everything else.

Here’s what separates the owners who stay stuck from the ones who scale:

Stuck owners think like technicians.

Scaling owners think like CEOs.

The technician spends all day IN the business. Clients, appointments, staff problems, putting out fires.

Then at 9pm they open Instagram and try to be a marketer too.

The CEO steps back to work ON the business.

They know marketing is a system, not a side task.

They know when to hire a closer.

When to bring in someone to run the day to day.

When to get the hell out of their own way.

Right now you’re probably doing everything yourself.

Delivering the service? That’s you.

Answering the leads? You again.

Marketing? Still you, at night, half asleep.

Hiring, scheduling, payroll? All you.

And it’s killing your business.

Because here’s what most owners miss:

The skills that made you great at your craft are completely different from the skills you need to build a business around it.

Nobody taught you how to build an offer, run ads that actually bring in the right people, follow up with leads, or close them without feeling slimy. They taught you the craft.

And being great at the craft is exactly what lets you avoid learning the rest.

You can be the best in your city at what you do, but if you don’t have a marketing system, a sales process, and a team running it…

…you’ll stay capped. No matter how hard you work.

That’s why inside Scale Syndicate I don’t teach the craft. You’ve got that handled.

At our last Scale Syndicate meet up, one member told me he finally broke $20K a month after he stopped doing his own marketing at 10pm and put a system behind it. Another one hired his first closer and took his first real vacation in three years.

These results aren’t a fluke.

I’ve spent over a decade helping high performers from all kinds of industries build and scale their businesses. Vin Del Monte, Dr. Ashley Lucas, Dr. Doug Lucas. Different industries, same problem. Great at the work, capped by the business.

I show you how to think and act like a CEO.

Because success leaves clues.

When you’re ready to stop being the technician and start running the business…

I’m here to help.

P.S. What got you here won’t get you there. That’s why athletes have coaches. You and I need them too.

Our next meet up is coming up and I’d love to intro you to the group.
