There’s an invisible currency that every man wants more than anything in the world.
It’s more valuable than Bitcoin, gold, or US dollars.
What I’m talking about is something you can’t touch or keep locked up in a safe.
And it’s this is the highest form of currency for any man.
Because it’s what men are willing to start fights over, to achieve leadership roles, and work 100+ hours a week to build a multi-million dollar empire.
And this currency needs to be replenished daily because every day your currency bank starts at zero.
This ultimate currency most men want is respect.
In fact, if you ask any man if he’d rather be loved or respected…he’ll choose being respected.
Because what’s the point of being loved if your wife second-guesses your decisions, your kids dismiss your advice, and your team members whisper behind your back?
And the thing about respect is this…
You will only get respect from others once YOU have SELF-respect.
Self-respect is knowing you’re:
- Choosing hard over easy
- Stand firm for what you believe in
- Following through with your word
So when you earn your own self-respect, you’ll be congruent with the man you say you are.
And when you’re congruent with the man you say you are you’ll be able to keep your promises.
And when you can keep your promises to your family and the people around you will be seen as a role model instead of a liability and cautionary tale.
Now here’s the hard truth:
Until you truly value yourself, others won’t either.
So always follow through with your word, show up for others and yourself, and do it consistently.
