By today’s standards, the media has portrayed men as weak and docile. They’ve twisted masculinity into something it’s not.

Masculinity is a gift from God. It’s not toxic. It’s not outdated. It’s powerful, and it’s necessary. And if you don’t teach our boys how to be masculine they grow up to be confused, anxious and depressed. 

True masculinity isn’t what you see on TV or read about in woke magazines.

Real men are:

Hard to kill, but easy to love

Kind with words, but ready to act

Generous with time, but protective of what matters

In control of their temper, but prepared if threats arise

Open to growth and respectful to all

This combination is what God intended for men. And it’s what our world desperately needs right now.

But here’s the problem:

Too many guys today are missing the mark. They’re either too soft, trying to fit the media’s neutered version of manhood, or they’re overcompensating with false “toughness.”

You want to know what real toxic masculinity is? It’s men who CAN’T balance these traits. Men who are unpredictable, emotionally dangerous, and incapable of tempering strength with love.

I share this with you because we need to step up and teach our sons what healthy masculinity looks like.

If we’re going to change this, it starts with us, the fathers and mentors.

But books are just the start. Masculinity must be honed daily through action.

That’s why I created the Squire Program.
