When I was a young buck starting off in the entrepreneurial game, I got caught up in the hype.
The supercars, the high-end watches, the flashy vacations.
I thought if I just earned enough money to afford all that, I’d be happy.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for rewarding hard work. But chasing status alone was a recipe for burnout, anxiety and dissatisfaction.
It led me to build businesses for the wrong reasons, and eventually, cracks started to show.
After founding multiple 7 & 8-figure companies and investing in a dozen more…
I realized real success comes from a deeper alignment between what you do and why you do it.
I share this with you because at the end of the day…
Rearing a Rolex on your wrist won’t mean much if your business has no real purpose.
And neither will a Ferrari in the driveway if you’re not making a genuine impact.
Many people assume they should build a business just to make fast cash…
But if you want your business to stand the test of time you need something bigger than ego behind it.
You need to be building a value-driven business:
One that operates on solid principles and has a mission beyond stacking dollars.
Over the years, I’ve hammered down three core pillars that separate quick-buck entrepreneurs from those who are legacy entrepreneurs.
HERE ARE THREE CORE PRINCIPLES TO BUILD VALUE DRIVEN BUSINESSES:
- Lead from Purpose, Not Profit
If you’re just chasing a fatter bank account, I promise you’ll burn out sooner than you think.
When your mission is crystal clear, your decisions become more strategic, and your team becomes UNSTOPPABLE.
A powerful purpose lights a FIRE under your ass, and your customers (and team) can FEEL IT.
And when you have that kind of vision, they’ll follow you anywhere.
- Cultivate a Winning Community
Your environment either propels you forward or drags you down…there’s NO middle ground.
Every massive breakthrough I’ve experienced came when I surrounded myself with people who were just as, if not more, ambitious, driven, and playing at a higher level than me.
Don’t surround yourself with ‘yes-men’ who stroke your ego. Surround yourself with people who call you on your BS and challenge you to think bigger.
I’ve watched entrepreneurs collapse years of struggle into months of progress simply by connecting with the right people.
- Own Your Story
Anyone can copy your product or service. But they CAN’T copy your journey.
Your story is the most powerful asset you have.
When I started sharing my experiences of immigrating to America as a kid with nothing to figuring out how to build multiple businesses, it created a connection with my audience that marketing dollars can’t buy.
People don’t connect with polished perfection.
They connect with AUTHENTICITY and VULNERABILITY.
Your story, even with all its mess and struggle, isn’t a weakness to hide.
It’s your competitive edge.
Show people the REAL you and no longer be customers. They’ll become evangelists for your brand.
And in today’s crowded marketplace drowning in marketing noise, that kind of loyalty is priceless.
Listen, building a value-driven business is about more than fancy tactics or the latest marketing hack.
Do these three things, and you’ll not only stay in the game longer…
You’ll start owning the game.

P.S. On March 14-15, I’m teaming up with my two good friends David Meltzer and John Barrett to host a Catalyst Society event.
At this event we’ll share with you everything we’ve learned about leadership, marketing, brand-building, and living a life of deeper purpose.
If you’re committed to leveling up and growing a business that creates impact in 2025 then…
