THE DAY A DUDE IN A TURTLENECK KILLED MY $1M BUSINESS

Years back when I was still trying to make it as an entrepreneur, my first mentor Jim Franco called me into his office to have a “come to Jesus talk” with me.

At the time I had never even heard the phrase “come to Jesus talk”

It went like this…

“Look…I’m DONE loaning you money. You need to figure out how you’re going to pay me back the money I loaned you Bedros.”

Most people usually hear this from a debt collector in the form of a loan shark.

But for me, it was from my mentor Jim Franco.

He was always brutally direct with me and never sugarcoated anything.

I tried to keep a stoic face.

But between you and me, my balls were in my throat because he had loaned me $126,000.

And I didn’t have the money to pay him back because it had been a little over 3 years and my “revolutionary” training software called High Tech Trainer hadn’t even launched yet.

On top of that my “revolutionary” software was about to become obsolete thanks to some dude in a turtleneck.

Yes, I’m talking about Steve Jobs.

When he revealed the iPhone, my $1M idea became a $0 idea.

I eventually ended up launching, breaking even, paying back my debt to Jim and scrapping the business altogether.

Now for most individuals, this would have crushed their soul. But for me, this was the best thing that could have happened to me.

Because it gave me a valuable lesson about making money.

I realized that I could create and create and CREATE all day long…

…but unless I started marketing and selling, my product was never going to make money.

Too many new entrepreneurs spend YEARS trying to perfect their service or product before even getting one sale.

Often times you’re stuck in creation mode and you put off marketing and selling because you’re trying to perfect your product or service.

That’s just stupid!

So learn from my $126,000 lesson.

If I could do it all over again this is what I would do:

  1. Have a launch strategy and crystal clear vision
  2. Find a way to sell my product as soon as possible
  3. Pivot and reiterate AFTER you launch your product or service

Stop waiting for the perfect moment to achieve your goal.

Understand it never will be.

Because the perfect moment to act…

The perfect time to start…

Will be the moment you decide to take action.

Talk soon,

Bedros Keuilian

It might just provide the come to Jesus moment you need to start scaling your business and your profits.

6 BUSINESS LESSONS FROM A BARBER

I’m a simple man of routine and habits.

Whether it’s my morning routine, workout schedule, or even my haircut. When I find something that works, I stick with it.

Like clockwork, every ten days my barber Erick swings by HQ.

And with Erick, my haircut always turns into more than just a trim.

Our conversations always lead to everything from self-mastery to business struggles.

The conversations get so deep that it sometimes feels like it’s a coaching day for both of us lol.

In fact just the other day we discussed his business and I wanted to share some takeaways from this conversation:

  1. Always Innovate: Creating faster than your competition can copy.
  2. Quality Over Everything: Keep the quality high, the service top-notch, and don’t be afraid to charge what you’re worth.
  3. Be Unforgettable: Figure out how to differentiate yourself, stand out, and do it in a way that no one else is doing it.
  4. Walk It AND Talk It: How you carry and conduct yourself in business matters.
  5. Word of Mouth is Gold: The best form of marketing is referrals from satisfied evangelical customers.
  6. Reputation Matters: You can build a new business, but you can’t build a new reputation. So don’t f*ck it up.

I share this with you because everyone thinks nuggets of wisdom come from some fancy schmancy book.

But the truth is, the biggest nuggets I’ve collected have come from someone else.

And these nuggets can come from a phone call with someone, a meeting in a boardroom, or even a barber’s chair.

So when you keep an open mind in your conversations, you’ll find hidden gems you can use to amplify your impact, scale your profits, and dominate your market.

I hope this helps you as well as it helped me this past week.

Because I’m about to share a few of these golden nuggets and a few more profit-generating ones with one of my Domination Year coaching clients.

Gotta bounce,

THE ARMENIAN NEO (AND PATTERN RECOGNITION IN BUSINESS)

I’ve been training jiu-jitsu for a while now and I gotta tell you…

I’m the leanest I’ve ever been, I’ve packed on muscle, and I’m not the guy getting his a$$ kicked every time he steps on the mat anymore.

But the biggest game-changer on the mat hasn’t been strength or speed or even techniques…

…it’s pattern recognition.

When you’ve been rolling long enough, you start to see what your opponent is trying to set up BEFORE they do it.

The grips, the hip movement, and the weight shift all starts to make sense.

And that’s what let me start to easily pass guard and get the submission.

Honestly it feels like I unlocked some cheat code.

Guys are rolling with me and I can see what they’re going to do two moves before they do it…

…like some big a$$ Armenian version of Neo from the Matrix who got the jiu jitsu skill download.

Look, I’m not saying I’m a black belt on the mat but put me up against someone who’s been training a few years and I can hold my own.

Now in entrepreneurship – that’s where I have the black belt.

And I share this with you because I’ve noticed the exact same thing in business.

After building Fit Body Boot Camp and coaching entrepreneurs, I keep seeing the same three patterns in businesses that are stuck.

And you’re probably making one of these three mistakes without realizing it:

1. Your leads are low-intent.

You’re burning cash on Meta ads targeting cold traffic, and you have no system to feed data back to the algorithm so it finds your actual buyers.

2. Your sales system is unpredictable.

Someone says, “I need to think about it” and you let them walk. No objection framework, no follow-up system, no way to warm them before the call. At FBBC, we have this dialed in, and we’re still iterating on it every single week.

3. Your offer isn’t compelling.

You’ve got a great product buried under a terrible offer. Nobody’s saying “hell yes” because there’s no reason to act now and no differentiation from everybody else.

These are the same problems I’ve had in my own businesses, and the same ones I’ve helped dozens of coaching clients fix.

And now I want to help you fix it.

On May 26th, I’m hosting a LIVE masterclass to show you the execution-level strategies I’m running across my businesses right now.

I’m teaching the same systems I use in Fit Body Boot Camp, Trulean Nutrition, Few Will Hunt, and my coaching business – to help you:

– Craft an offer that makes people feel stupid saying no

– Build a lead generation system that’s actually predictable

– Install scale systems so your growth doesn’t create chaos

I’m charging less than your morning Starbucks order and 100% is being donated to Shriners Children’s Hospital so families who can’t afford medical costs for their kids can still get care.

WHAT KILLED SPIRIT AIRLINES WILL KILL YOUR BUSINESS TOO

A few weeks ago Spirit Airlines shut down for good.

After 34 years in business, they could no longer keep their doors open.

It’s never a good thing when a business decides to shut down.

Early on in my journey, I personally felt the pain of closing the doors of a business I started.

(I’m sure a few of your failures come to mind as well.)

But I’ve been seeing people online saying:

“Well yeah, Spirit sucked. They charged you for everything. Who cares?”

I care.

Because thousands of people just lost their jobs and are unable to put food on their tables.

And the reason Spirit collapsed could have been avoided.

In fact, what happened to them is the exact same reason I see businesses collapsing every single day.

I share this with you because there’s a massive lesson buried in this story.

Spirit didn’t die because they had a bad product.

They moved millions of people from point A to point B cheaper than anybody.

The problem is that cheap was the ONLY reason people flew them.

No loyalty or experience that made you think “I’m flying Spirit again no matter what.”

Just price.

And because they were the cheapest their margins were razor thin.

When oil prices spiked because of the war with Iran, they had zero room to absorb the hit.

Couldn’t raise prices because the only reason anyone flew them WAS the price. Couldn’t pivot because there was nothing else there.

Now I’m not saying your business is Spirit Airlines.

But if the only reason your customers buy from you is because you’re the cheapest…

…then it becomes hard to survive when an economic turmoil hits.

One cost increase, one competitor who undercuts you, one bad quarter, and it’s over.

The businesses that survive are the ones that give people a reason to stay even when they’re NOT the cheapest.

The brand, the experience, the results, the offer – that’s what creates margin.

And margin is what keeps you alive when the market turns ugly.

You and I know that the way you run a business in 2026 is not how it was even two years ago.

Spirit was running a 2005 playbook in 2026.

And it cost them everything.

So if you’re stuck on a plateau right now…

…if what used to work just doesn’t anymore…

…the problem is probably the same.

And that’s exactly why I’m hosting a LIVE Masterclass where I’m going to show you the execution-level strategies I’m running across my businesses right now.

The same systems I use in Fit Body Boot Camp, Trulean Nutrition, Few Will Hunt, and my coaching business – to help you:

– Craft an offer that makes people feel stupid saying no

– Build a lead generation system that’s actually predictable

– Install scale systems so your growth doesn’t create chaos

I want to help as many people as I possibly can, which is why I’m charging less than your morning order at Starbucks.

And 100% of it is being donated to Shriners Children’s Hospital so families who can’t afford medical costs for their kids can still get care.

HOW TO SURF THE SILVER TSUNAMI

Years ago when I first got into the fitness industry, everybody told me group fitness was a fad.

“People want personal training, Bedros. One-on-one. That’s where the money is.”

I looked at the data, looked at the trends, looked at where consumer behavior was heading…

…and I bet everything on group fitness anyway.

That bet became Fit Body Boot Camp – hundreds of locations, 3x on the Inc. and Entrepreneur fastest-growing franchise lists.

I share this with you because I’m seeing that same kind of wave forming right now.

And most people are completely missing it.

They’re calling it the silver tsunami.

Here’s what’s happening:

10,000 baby boomers are turning 65 every single day in America.

This generation has the lowest debt, the highest disposable income, and the strongest desire to invest in their health and longevity of any demographic walking the planet right now.

These aren’t people looking for six-pack abs or beach body transformations.

They want to pick up their grandkids without throwing out their back, stay independent, stay strong, stay functional for the next 20-30 years of their life.

And 386 metro cities across the country are already baby boomer heavy – meaning the demand is there RIGHT NOW and almost nobody is positioned to serve it.

I’ve already started building for the silver tsunami inside Fit Body.

You can see how we’re doing it here.

Because that’s what entrepreneurs do – you see the wave before it breaks and you paddle out.

If you’re looking for YOUR silver tsunami (no matter the industry you’re in), here’s what I’d tell you to pay attention to:

  1. Where is money moving?
  2. Who is being underserved?
  3. What does the next 10 years look like?

The entrepreneurs who win aren’t the ones with the best ideas. They’re the ones who see the wave early and commit before it’s obvious.

Talk soon,

Bedros Keuilian

P.S. If you want to see exactly how Fit Body Boot Camp is positioning to ride the silver tsunami, and how you could be the one opening a location in your area, join me at the next Virtual Discovery Zoom

THE $0 SEASON

Behind every “overnight success” is a season most people don’t ever hear about.

When I was building Fit Body, there were seasons where I was:

 Working 16-hour days.

Missing time with my kids.

Watching campaigns fail.

Losing money I didn’t have.

And going to bed wondering if I was an idiot for doing this instead of just getting a safe job with a 401k and health insurance.

That’s the $0 season.

And every entrepreneur goes through it.

It’s the day-to-day challenges and failures that make you question your sanity.

The countless setbacks that make you want to throw in the towel.

Or being one bad month away from shutting it all down.

That’s the part nobody posts on Instagram.

I share this with you because what I learned through all of it is that your success comes down to how you act in these exact moments.

It’s doing the little things over and over again when it’s hard and you don’t feel like showing up.

It’s taking that next step before you feel “ready” because ready is a lie you tell yourself to stay comfortable.

It’s going ALL in on your goals because you have a burning desire to build a better life for yourself and your family…

…not because some ‘gooroo’ told you it would be easy.

The real reward isn’t the money, the cars, or the watches.

It’s the skills, the mindset, the discipline, the resilience you develop along the way.

That’s the stuff that makes you unstoppable.

Because once you’ve built THAT version of yourself, nothing can take it from you. Not a failed business, not a bad partnership, not even a recession.

The only ones who get there are the ones willing to give up on this fantasy of “overnight success” and just commit to overcoming their $0 season.

Talk soon,

Bedros Keuilian

P.S. Even though I don’t believe in “overnight success,” I do believe in shortcuts. The kind that save you months or even years of trying to figure it out on your own.

One of those shortcuts is Fit Body Boot Camp’s Virtual Discovery Zoom, where you get to see behind the scenes of one of the most trusted brands in the fitness industry – how we built it, how we scale it, and how you could be the one opening the next location in your area.

The next Discovery Zoom is coming up.

THE SMARTEST PEOPLE I KNOW ARE THE WORST AT MAKING MONEY

It’s no secret I barely made it through school.

I grew up taking ESL classes and was diagnosed with ADD.

But somewhere between trying to graduate and building companies that have generated over $200 million in sales, I figured something out that most people never do.

Being great at what you do and knowing how to make money from it are two completely different skill sets.

And nobody teaches you the second one.

I see it all the time.

Someone builds the expertise (spending years, sometimes decades mastering their craft), and they still can’t figure out why their business has a ceiling on it.

They think it’s a lead gen problem. It’s not.

They think people are broke. They’re not.

They think they just need to work harder. They don’t.

What they’re missing is the business side of their brilliance.

The sales process, the offer structure, the ability to turn one client into three transactions instead of one, and the systems that let them scale without being in the room for every single dollar that comes in.

I share this with you because the reason smart people stay stuck isn’t that they lack talent or work ethic.

They’re just tied to a system that was never designed to let them win.

The doctor trading 14-hour days for a salary that sounds impressive until you divide it by the hours.

The C-level exec who’s built someone else’s empire for 20 years and has nothing of their own to show for it.

The med spa owner doing $400K a year who can’t take a vacation because the entire business runs through them.

These people have something most entrepreneurs would kill for – decades of real expertise.

But they’ve never been taught:

  • How to package those skills into an offer the market actually wants to buy
  • How to position themselves so the right audience finds them
  • How to build a business that doesn’t require them to be in the room for it to make money

And when you learn how to do that…

When you can take 15 years of expertise and compress it into an offer, a brand, and a sales system that reaches thousands instead of dozens – the ceiling disappears.

If someone like me, who could barely pass English class, can build a $200 million empire…then someone with your brains, your credentials, and your expertise can do something even greater.

Talk soon,

Bedros Keuilian

P.S. If you’re a healthcare professional looking to package your expertise and build something beyond your practice – Domination Year is my private 1-on-1 coaching program

WHY YOU’LL ALWAYS BE SOMEBODY’S SECOND CHOICE (AND WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT)

I have a coaching client named Scott.

Scott comes from a military background and law enforcement.

The dude is tough as nails.

He came to me ready to scale a supplement company he’d been building on the side.

But he had a problem.

He was doing what I see almost every entrepreneur do when they try to break into a crowded market…

…he was trying to replicate the success of brands that were already there.

He had:

Another greens powder.

Another pre-workout.

Another protein.

He was competing head-to-head with brands like Athletic Greens, Jocko Fuel, Trulean, and Onnit.

Brands that already have millions of dollars in ad spend, loyal followings, and years of momentum behind them.

And that’s where most people fail.

When you try to out-product an established brand…

…You automatically become the second choice.

I share this with you because you’re asking customers to leave something they already trust for a version of the same thing from somebody they’ve never heard of.

That’s not a fight you win.

And when you try to do it all…

Have every supplement under the sun, every SKU you can think of – you spread yourself so thin that nothing stands out and you burn through cash trying to market a dozen different things instead of owning ONE.

So I asked Scott a simple question:

Which product do you believe in more than any of the others?

It was his nootropic.

He’d been using it himself through years of military service and high-stress law enforcement work.

It wasn’t just another brain supplement.

It was built by a guy who needed it to stay sharp when the stakes were life and death.

That’s a story nobody else can tell.

It is no longer just another product…

It evolves into a brand people rally behind because there’s a real human with a real background and real proof standing behind it.

And this applies to EVERYTHING – not just supplements.

Coaching, consulting, fitness, services, whatever you’re building.

If you’re trying to win by being a slightly better version of what’s already out there, you’re going to lose. Every time.

But if you find the ONE thing that’s tied to YOUR story, YOUR experience, and YOUR proof…

That’s where you stop competing and start leading your industry.

Talk soon,

Bedros Keuilian

P.S. This is exactly the kind of work we do inside Scale Syndicate. We rip apart your offer, your positioning, your lead gen, your sales process – and rebuild it around the thing that actually makes you different.

THIS IS WHAT KEEPS SMART ENTREPRENEURS STUCK AT SIX FIGURES

I recently had a Scale Syndicate coaching call and one of my members (we’ll call him James) stuck around after the call for Q&A.

James has struggled to break past the 6-figure mark in his business for the past two years.

So I started asking him a series of questions I always ask when someone’s stuck.

And within about the first 2 questions I realized what the real problem was.

He was overanalyzing every decision he made.

He wasn’t being decisive with his time, his actions, or his next moves and it was causing his business to plateau.

Well I don’t want to get into the specifics of what was going on in his business…

…but I was able to help James get out of his head and build a plan for how he’s going to take his business from 6 figures to 7 figures.

I share this with you because it got me thinking about the importance of being decisive.

Look, as entrepreneurs we are faced with countless decisions every day.

Some of these decisions can be business-altering decisions that have the potential to bankrupt your business.

It’s easy to become overwhelmed and feel like you’re not in control.

I’ve been there in my early days of building Fit Body Boot Camp.

But the truth is, you are in control.

You just need to learn how to be decisive.

Being decisive means being confident in our decisions and taking action – even if we’re not 100% sure of the outcome.

It means being mindful of our time and how we spend it, focused on the task at hand and blocking out distractions.

And it means being proactive instead of reactive.

Simply put, don’t let your small fires turn into raging infernos.

As you head into this week focus on being decisive with your decisions.

Lean into your fear.

Don’t be afraid to take risks and make mistakes because that’s an opportunity for growth and learning.

Focus on what you can control.

We can’t control everything, but we can control our actions and decisions. So focus on what you can manage and make the most of it.

And remember – imperfect action trumps a perfect plan.

Stop procrastinating, researching, forever planning…

…and just start doing the damn thing!

You got this.

Bedros Keuilian

P.S. If you need help getting out of your own head, building the systems, procedures, and strategy to scale to consistent six figures and beyond, then you might want to check out Scale Syndicate.

BUILDING A LEVEL-UP OR LEVEL-OUT CULTURE

I read recently that Oracle just laid off 30,000 employees.

Some of them had been there 20 years.

That’s two decades of giving their best years to a company that called them “family”…

…and then one Tuesday morning they got an email telling them to pack their sh!t.

Look, I understand that companies have to make moves that are best for themselves, their bottom line, and their shareholders.

And most of the time, that doesn’t include their employees.

This is part of the reason I think calling your team ‘family’ is complete bullsh!t.

If you were to talk to any one of my team members, they would tell you that I genuinely care about them. I want to see every single one of them grow, win, and become the best version of themselves.

But I don’t throw the word ‘family’ around because it blurs a line that needs to stay clear.

I share this with you because your real family is sitting at home waiting for you to walk through that door and provide for them.

Your kids and your spouse – those are the people who need you no matter what.

What I do care about more than anything inside my companies is culture.

Culture isn’t holding hands and singing kumbaya.

Hanging “we’re all in this together” posters on the wall.

Or throwing pizza parties.

When you build a culture of high performers, people don’t coast. They don’t show up just to collect a check. They fight like hell for the business like it’s theirs.

And when people fight for the business and have something worth standing for, there are no mass layoffs.

Because there’s no dead weight dragging everyone down.

The business grows, everyone eats, and your team members go home and take care of the people who actually ARE their family.

That’s why I run a “Level Up or Level Out” culture in every one of my companies.

I’m constantly looking at the bottom 20% of my team and asking one of two questions:

  1. How do I level them up
  2. Or how do I level them out?

HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL FIND WHEN YOU ASK THOSE TWO QUESTIONS:

Diamonds in the Rough – they’ve got the heart and the hunger, they just need extra coaching. I pair them with my top performers and give them every opportunity to rise.

Wrong seat, right bus – good people stuck in the wrong role. Move them. I’ve seen average team members become rockstars just by shifting them into a position that matches their strengths.

Dead weight – zero desire to grow, resist feedback, drag the energy down like a crop duster flying through the office. These people need to go. Not next quarter. Now.

And I hold myself to this same standard.

If I’m not leveling up as the leader, I have no business asking my team to.

So stop calling your team family and start building a culture where high performers want to stay and fight…

…because that’s what keeps everyone’s real family fed.

Keep leveling up,

Bedros Keuilian

P.S. If you want help implementing a Level Up or Level Out culture inside your business, that’s exactly what I do inside my Domination Year coaching.

It’s 12 months of private 1-on-1 coaching with me where I give you the tools, systems, and frameworks to build the same culture I’ve implemented across all of my companies over the years.
